Service was welcoming , food is delicious . Overall excellent!I definitely felt as though I had been transported back to France ( been there a few times). There is a small parking lot in back. I stopped by on a Sunday morning &suggest arriving early as it does get quite busy . Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area !

Sweet Wheat is the real deal. Walking in feels like being in a French bakery straight out of Paris. The display is huge and packed with fresh pastries and breads that all look incredible, and somehow they taste even better. The prices are very reasonable, the staff is genuinely warm and welcoming. This is the kind of neighborhood spot that Redondo Beach is lucky to have.

We placed a call-in order for lunch on Saturday and ordered about an hour and a half before our planned pickup time. The person who took our order over the phone was excellent—friendly, thorough, and she carefully repeated everything back to us. Based on that experience, we were excited to try this restaurant for the first time. When we arrived, the restaurant was not crowded. While waiting for our order to be gathered, I ordered a French roast coffee to go. Unfortunately, the coffee was only lukewarm. The employee apologized and made me a café Americano instead. Once we got home, we discovered that one of the items we paid for, a chausson aux pommes, was missing from the bag. We called the restaurant and were told the item would be refunded, although we were advised it could take up to 10 business days for the refund to appear. The bigger disappointment was the food itself. We ordered four sandwiches and a Niçoise salad. Several pieces of lettuce in both the sandwiches and the salad were wilted or slimy, which was surprising given the restaurant's reputation and pricing. The Iberico sandwiches were especially underwhelming. At $16 each, we expected a more substantial sandwich.

Tried Sweet Wheat in Redondo Beach today and honestly the variety surprised me. It’s a French bakery café started by two French brothers, but it’s not just pastries and croissants. They have soups, salads, quinoa bowls, sandwiches, breads, desserts, coffee, tea — a lot more of a full café than I expected. The pesto sourdough sandwich with cheese and tomato was really good, and there were quite a few vegetarian options mixed in with salmon sandwiches and salads. The pastry case is also pretty wild once you walk in. It’s one of those places where people are actually sitting and hanging out for awhile instead of just grabbing coffee and leaving.

A wide range of pastries, bread and sandwiches. Delicious and tasty with high quality. Prepared from butter that makes it different from others. Always taste fresh. Atmosphere is pleasant and clean , service is friendly and staff is always helpful. Always give authentic French bakery experience. Free parking is in the rear. Seating is nice with space. Recommending Almond Croissants ,white chocolate pistachios cookies & Chocolate Hazelnut cookies
